Accredited Consignor Services
Waste classification, lawful place determination and Waste Tracker management.

Operational experience. Practical solutions.
Classifying waste correctly and moving it lawfully is critical to your business operating compliantly — understanding what waste is produced, and how, is exactly where our operational experience comes in.
What is an Accredited Consignor?
Under the Environment Protection Act 2017 and Environment Protection Regulations 2021, an Accredited Consigner is an independent subject matter expert appointed by EPA Victoria under section 245(2) to assist businesses in meeting their statutory waste duties.
An Accredited Consignor does not work for the EPA, they are accredited to consign waste by the EPA to ensure it is done correctly.
Core role & responsibilities
Accredited consignors act as technical advisors and authorised representatives for waste producers, particularly when handling high-risk waste streams like priority waste and reportable priority waste (RPW).
-
Waste classification: helping businesses correctly categorise waste — such as hazardous chemicals, contaminated soil, or dangerous goods — based on chemical composition and environmental risk.
-
Determining lawful place: ensuring waste is directed to a facility holding the appropriate EPA permissions to receive and process that specific waste code.
-
Managing Waste Tracker: creating waste tracking records, logging transactions, and tracking the movement of reportable priority waste on your behalf using EPA Victoria's digital Waste Tracker system.
-
Compliance assurance: giving waste generators — especially those without specialised internal expertise — a structured path to demonstrate compliance with the General Environmental Duty and industrial waste duties.
